Projects.

This subsegment contains a collection of the various projects and slideshows I have completed over the course of the year, showcasing the results of my hard work and dedication in class.

Subsections:

Analogies Paper

This paper was made using the topic and structure of my second speech as a way to both show and demonstrate the rhetorical power involved in analogies. Their essential nature allows users to equivocate between things, whether deservedly or not, and effectively prime individuals to sweeping generalizations about any given thing.

FAQ Post

This paper isn't actually a formal work, at least not like the previous one. This is because FAQ is a naturally informal subject: an incredible tool rhetorically, assuming you can answer a given question, because each satisfactorily answer one either derails the internal arguments of others against your point or else further increases a speaker's ethos as the expert on stage.

Podcast

A Podcast i.e. purely verbal recording of events and topics that I made covering a topic related to my third presentation. While a difficult tool to make use of, on account of the purely auditory nature requiring a certain level of speaking charisma to maintain an audience through, it can allow an individual to spread their ideas and thoughts even to those too busy to watch a traditional debate (through enabling those and discussions as on-the-go products).

SLIDESETS

Known best as the PowerPoint behind my presentations.

First Presentation

The very first slideshow  presentation made for this communications class, and thus exhibiting symptoms of my earlier weaknesses in this area. While still displaying admirable style, I would have included a thesis and clearer roadmap if given the opportunity to remake it.

Second Presentation

This presentation was where my feet really landed, at least in terms of content. While visual design has taken an arguable downswing (on account of a less interesting background and more intrusive images) the content of this piece was several times  more interesting, so much so that the individual tracking its time limit lost that track and enabled the speech to be at least a minute longer than it should have.

Third Presentation

If the second presentation represents the height of content, than the third does the same for design. A complex, yet not distracting background, delicately chosen and meticulously arranged images, and a willingness to use words alongside those images all turn this presentation into a far superior visual product than the previous.

Fourth Presentation

This was a major project generated as part of a group, rather than individual effort. I personally am only responsible for slides nine and ten, and not even the running theme on those, though the individual that did et the slides by that theme did an amazing job.
